Activate an Account

Activating a brightspot account is easy. You can bring your own phone or purchase a brightspot phone.

Visit your local Target store or see Shop Phones & SIMs to purchase a brightspot SIM kit and/or brightspot phone.

If you have an existing phone number that you wish to transfer into brightspot, just let us know when you activate your account. Ensure that you have your previous service provider's account number handy in order to enable successful transfer of your existing phone number.

Activation Requirements

Before activating, make sure you have the following:

  • A brightspot phone or your own unlocked phone
  • A brightspot SIM card
  • A brightspot activation code
  • Your SIM number and IMEI number
  • Payment for the first month of service plus taxes
    Note: If you plan to bring your number from another provider you will need that account information.

Activate an Account Online

To activate a brightspot account online, follow these steps:

  1. Select Activate & Go.
  2. Set up your phone by entering the SIM, IMEI, and Activation Code numbers.
  3. Select Next.
  4. Set up your account by entering your personal information and then selecting if you want to keep your current number or get a new number.
  5. Select Next.
  6. Select a rate plan and optional services.
  7. Select Next.
  8. Review your phone and account information and then select Next.
  9. Fund your account by selecting a payment method (credit/debit card or checking account) or by redeeming a brightspot refill card.

After payment is received, account activation may take up to two hours.
